Elbows

English translation follows the German text.

Hallo.

Hello. Today is Saturday and I often notice on Saturdays that my feet are a bit dirty. Not because they are particularly more dirty on Saturdays than on other days, but because one has the opportunity on a Saturday to go through one's day in a slightly more relaxed manner and have a look at the soles of one's feet. This opportunity is missing during the week due to all the capatilist hecticity and other junk. Good. This business with my feet reminds me of my childhod, when I would sometimes not notice for days that my elbows were covered in dirt. Because when does one have a look at one's elbows? You don't just stumble upon them as you're walking past or anything. This led to me devoting extra time to my elbows during every body inspection, even if I hadn't just been in goal and there wasn't any particular reason for grubby elbows. In my grownuppity I look somewhat less frequently at my elbows. For this reason, I can only assume that they are sometimes dirty and sometimes clean. I can not however speak with certainty. Fortunately elbows are in fact less susceptible to becoming dirty than feet. The main problem with feet is that one walks around on them the whole time and is reliant on the fact that the floor on which one is walking, shines with a sparkling cleanliness. Which it obviously doesn't do all the time. Two possible solutions would be: pushing a mop in front of one as one walks in order to guarantee the cleanliness of the floor, or: walking on one's elbows, in order to keep the feet out of danger. Unfortunately, this creates the impression that one is a cleaning lady or a circus performer. I also tried for some time to overcome the problem by the means of sock-wearing, but, because the socks lay similarly below the desired hygenie-niveau, this was of little success. So because these options don't come to much, I am thankful that I have time on Saturdays to look at my feet and to wash them as and when this is necessary. I can only recommend it. See you tomorrow.
